Visitors with a hearing impairment

Visitors with a hearing impairment can prepare their visit independently and discover the zoo in its entirety.

Reception

Admission is free for all disabled visitors and accompanying adults on self-guided tours, on presentation at the ticket office of a valid document such as of an official document available or a declaration on their honour.

Any additional accompanying person must pay for a ticket at the current rate.

Reception staff are on hand to help you as soon as you arrive. Our reception staff are trained to deal with disabled visitors.

The information point is located after the access control. Wheelchairs can be loaned on request, in exchange for proof of identity.

The reception staff do not speak French sign language and are not trained in lip-reading. However, they are at your disposal if you wish to obtain information; do not hesitate to let them know if there is another method of communication that you could use (writing in a notebook, etc.).

The reception area, including the ticket office and information point, is equipped with magnetic loops.

Tour itinerary

Visits to the park are mainly visual. There are a few audio displays (screens in some educational kiosks and in the clinic), but the video is subtitled. Most of the multimedia displays have no sound.

Audible announcements with tour instructions are broadcast regularly.

Visiting tips

  • The animals presented at the zoo remain wild animals, so it is not possible to arrange to touch them.
  • Shaded areas are available in the picnic areas (at the Glades and near the African plain) in case of very hot weather. The zoo is also equipped with misters (on the forecourt, under the arch of the great rock and on the terrace of the Zarafa restaurant). It's best to visit in the morning or at the end of the day.
  • As part of the Apprentice Animal Care activities, please note that zoo staff do not speak French sign language and are not trained in lip-reading. Thank you for your understanding.

Visitor app

The park has a free Smartphone application called ‘Parc Zoologique de Paris’. It is available on iPhone and Android. It offers content in several languages and audio description.

It's a visitor's guide that will help you locate and discover the different natural environments featured at the zoo, as well as the main species on display.

It will help you to locate the animals on the map or in the list, and will tell you more about their biology, their way of life, their interactions with other species, the state of wild populations and the measures taken to preserve them.

Finally, you'll find some practical information to simplify your visit.
