Europe Biozone

If the ecosystems of Europe are more familiar to you than those of Africa or South America, the Parc zoologique de Paris invites you to take a fresh look at the continent of Europe: at the foot of the Parc zoologique de Paris' emblematic Great Rock, discover the Europe biozone.

The coniferous forest

Under the canopy of tall black pines, beech, hornbeam, oak and birch trees create a forest atmosphere in which Iberian wolves (Canis lupus signatus), lynx (Lynx lynx) and wolverines (Gulo gulo) hide among the trunks, drinking at the foot of the waterfall or perched on the rocks.

Under the big rock, enter the vivarium

Inside the Grand Rocher, in the vivarium, terrariums recreating marshland, scrubland and mountains are filled with frogs, newts, turtles, lizards and snakes. These European species, which are rare in zoos, such as the viper, are spread out along a pathway covering more than 200 m2. There, you might also be able to observe de blob, this slime mold with suprising cognitive skills.
