The hyacinth macaw, Anodorhynchus hyacinthinus, is a bird from the psittacidae family which mainly feeds on fruit and seeds and lives in the canopy in South America.

Distinctive features

It is over 1 m long.

Both males and females have blue plumage, while the skin around the eyes and behind the beak is yellow.

Anecdote

This parrot can reach the age of 60 without any stress or risk of predation!
