... which could have been the case for the greater bamboo lemur (Prolemur simus), an arboreal lemur endemic to Madagascar, classified as “critically endangered” on the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) red list and threatened by habitat loss. But thanks to the efforts of the Helpsimus association, supported by the Parc Zoologique de Paris, the population of large hapalemurs in Madagascar has been multiplied by 3 in just 10 years!
