Make your way to the Great Rock
Come and explore the Europe biozone at the foot of the iconic Great Rock at the Parc Zoologique de Paris. Flanking this famous rock are the otters’ waterfall and the aviary housing many birds of prey threatened with extinction such as the Black Vulture (Aegypius monachus), the Egyptian Vulture (Neophron percnopterus) and the Red Kite (Milvus milvus).
Conifer forest
Under the cover of the tall black pines grow beech trees, hornbeams, oak trees and silver birches, creating a forest habitat where Iberian wolves (Canis lupus signatus), lynx (Lynx lynx) and wolverines (Gulo gulo) prowl around, hidden amongst the trunks, stopping to quench their thirst at the foot of the waterfall or rest on the rocks.
The vivarium under the Great Rock
Inside the Great Rock, in the vivarium, terrariums recreating marshland, scrubland and mountainous terrain are filled with frogs, newts, toads, tortoises, lizards and snakes. These European species, rarely seen in zoos, such as the European adder and the yellow-bellied toad, are on display along a trail of over 200 m2.

Under the Great rock is the vivarium where the frogs, newts, toads, tortoises, lizards and snakes are found. They represent the small fauna of Europe. After the vivarium, in the european forest ambience you can meet the Iberian wolves (Canis lupus signatus), the Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx), the wolverine (Gulo gulo) and the vultures.
